From theory to living streets

Started in 2015 with a simple question: how do we teach people to see the ecological systems hidden in their daily commute? The answer wasn't another textbook—it was building a platform where students track real bird migration patterns through their neighborhoods, measure soil health in community gardens, and map heat islands using thermal cameras.

Each module connects abstract concepts to tangible observations. When someone learns about nutrient cycling, they're simultaneously analyzing compost data from urban farms. When they study pollinator networks, they're contributing to a live database that municipal planners actually reference for green space design.

This year marks the shift from pilot programs to sustained infrastructure. The platform now supports multiple languages, integrates with existing city monitoring systems, and provides certification pathways for environmental professionals looking to specialize in urban contexts.
